The time schedule for Maasvlakte 2 is dependent on a number of procedures. An important starting point is that the three PMR projects commence simultaneously. All of the procedural preparations for these projects must therefore have been completed. That equally applies to the nature compensation projects. The application procedures for the necessary permits and the environmental impact assessment procedures for the Construction and Use are also being untertaken (MER-A, MER-B, permits). Before the contractor can commence the work, there must also be sufficient evidence that companies actually wish to make use of Maasvlakte 2. The Port of Rotterdam Authority is has already signed contracts with three clients.
