Has the local population been heard on the Maasvlakte 2 project?
How can I stay informed of the developments surrounding Maasvlakte 2?
What is the support for Maasvlakte 2?
Will Maasvlakte 2 also have an information centre on location?
In the autumn of 2004, the residents of the neighbouring municipalities were informed of the plans concerning the development of Maasvlakte 2, with the publication of the Initial Memorandum for the MER (EIA) reports. In late 2006/early 2007, information evenings were held in various municipalities in order to keep the local population abreast of the latest developments. Many of the documents concerning Maasvlakte 2 will be open to public inspection between April 20 and May 31, 2007. They include environmental impact assessments, examinations of appropriate use, initial drafts of planning decisions and applications for licences. Some of the documents are being published for consultation procedures, while others are for information purposes only. During this period consultations are held with the competent authorities.
